Im back on the internet once again after this unusual internet service went down. I dont have a whole lot to go over however I did find this specific tire chains write-up recently. Independent third-party testing at Michigan Tech University’s Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) proved that Snobootz was about 20 percent faster than snow chains on ice from zero to 20 mph on a full-size SUV. On a 10 percent ice-covered grade, Snobootz allow a vehicle to climb, come to a complete stop on the slope, and then continue the climb again without sliding backwards.
In KRC installation tests, Snobootz proved to be 66 percent faster than tire chains. This means the driver will be less exposed to roadside hazards, and more likely to use them when necessary. Also, at one-third the weight of chains, Snobootz are easier to handle and store. Lammon said that although Snobootz are not designed for extended use on dry pavement, the tough rubber traction pads have been proven to last more than 200 miles, which exceeds the life expectancy of tire chains on dry pavement.

Question by tlc289: Thunder Kart go-cart: what part is this?
Was riding with son on older thunder kart go kart, 5 hp engine. Weight of both of us 250 pounds probably did this.
The chain “rides” on the same thing like a bike chain, little “teeth” go into and secure the chain. There’s a top smaller one and a bottom really large one that sits next to tire. Don’t know what it’s called (flywheel, maybe?). Anywho, the top part is BENT – again, probably due to our combined weight (way too much). Now I gotta replace it. The smaller “flywheel” piece I’m talking about goes into the engine but the part that “holds” the chain is external to engine (this is the part that’s bent/broken).
What’s the top part called? It holds chain externally but goes into engine. Can a common man replace this?

hey man sounds fun too bad ya overloaded the critter , i use to race MotoX an if its on the outside of the engine an chain runs around it , im gonna tell you take off its a “HAIL MARY” pass an say countershaft sprocket ? there cheap as lleh an they will bend hope maybe i was close an not totally ignorant sounding here i would try searching the go kart online i would try every name on that thing for a keyword an believe it or not its been a 95% winner for me doing it that way when all else tanks…..
